Lowe's Heroes conducted a Safety Educational Day with 14 different workshops to help the students and families of Cloud Elementary reduce the risk of fire and safety hazards. Lowe's joined with the Wichita Fire Department, EMS, American Red Cross, Wichita Police Department, and numerous other organizations to have workshops available to help educate the children on Kids' Safety Issues. A Smoke House was available to demonstrate fire escapes, Smokey Bear was on hand, Identify-Kid was present, Highway Patrol demonstrated the importance of safety belts, just to name a few. Each of the children had the opportunity to build a Lowe's Wooden Fire Truck to take home. Each child was also given a Lowe's Safety Day shirt. There were safety products given away, including smoke detectors with any parent request. The students had a wonderful time and learned a lot about safety. |
